NC State University’s Technical Communication Association (TCA) is happy to invite you to our virtual SpeedCon! We are complying with officials’ recommendations against large gatherings and moving our conference to an online space, perfect for exploring the potential of technical communication in our increasingly digital world. We have updated logistics and adapted the format.
Details are as follows:
- Theme: Communication During a Pandemic
- Location: Virtual via Zoom
- Date and time: Saturday, 24 April from 10 am to 5 pm.
- Deadline for proposal submission: April 16, 2021
- Fees: None
- Schedule: Click here to see the conference schedule.
- Program: Click here to see the session abstracts and speaker bios.
Please see the call for presenters, which has been revised with new details. We strongly encourage our MSTC students to present. Consider sharing your current research or projects, or an exploration of your personal interests within tech comm.
We also are creating a panel of students who work in tech comm for a Capstone project discussion and Q&A/day-in-the-life discussion. We hope to explore the dichotomies of your identity in academia and work.
Remember, this conference is an opportunity to learn from each other and network with industry professionals for free and in a welcoming setting. Register for SpeedCon by using the Google Form. Thank you for your interest!
SpeedCon is an annual conference run by the Technical Communication Association (TCA) of NC State University. Speakers can lead 45-minute workshops or 15-minute “speedtalks” on topics of their choice. We welcome proposals on ideas from across technical communication, from instructional design to user experience to content management. Industry practitioners, students, faculty, and interested publics can join us for this exciting event.
Please note: SpeedCon is hosted by a student organization and cannot reimburse speakers or guests for travel expenses or pay speaker fees.
